It's hard believe but 2015 marks a decade of D.C. Witness tracking every homicide and non-fatal shooting in our city. We have added stabbings (which are distressingly on the rise) and other violent crimes. Unlike so many organizations involved in criminal justice we do not have an agenda - other than to bring transparency and, with it, accountabilty to the DC criminal justice system. We have also introduced technology products like our Victim Notification System, which keeps people informed in real time on how cases they want to follow are develioping. As residents, we need to demand a different perspective to control the rising crime. Help us to continue to gather information for that new perspective.
